"The Whitney Museum of American Art challenged us to extend its brand in a functionally effective way throughout its environment without eclipsing the art. To achieve this, we used the Whitney’s ‘responsive W’ logo as a graphic element, creating a visual language for the wayfinding program. Based on the logo, a flexible typographic grid—consisting of graphics that incorporate arrows—uses ‘containers’ to house directions."
