“The Museum of Modern Art exhibition Joaquín Torres-García: The Arcadian Modern featured works by the Uruguayan artist ranging from the late 19th century into the 1940s, including drawings, paintings, objects, sculptures, original artist notebooks and rare publications. Inspired by the hand-drawn typography Torres-García often incorporated into his work, we created a dynamic custom typeface in which characters have various proportions and forms. By combining letters with different proportions together,
we developed a particular rhythm for each word that referenced the way Torres-García used typography in his pieces.”
