“Grubby’s Last Stop” 3:30
“Women’s tackle football player Carol Grubb, known by her teammates as Grubby, locked down a starting middle linebacker job with the Philadelphia Firebirds after just two weeks of practice back in 2001, when women’s tackle football was in its infancy. Later that year, the Firebirds captured the Independent Women’s Football League inaugural championship, with Grubby spearheading the title run as Defensive Player of the Year. Nine seasons, hundreds of tackles and one brief retirement later, she’s back for one more season. This is a chronicle of her final season.”
