Lunch is part of a personal project about spaces from my childhood, dedicated to the women who raised the children in my hometown of Frankenstein, Missouri. At a time when gender roles were clearly defined, women occupied these kitchens and living spaces with care and grace. Lunch was between dinner and supper, with bread baked nearly every day and jelly made from the women’s own berries.”
