“For an article in Nautilus’s Nothingness issue, about the null hypothesis and why we can’t rule out the existence of Bigfoot. This piece was a turning point for me. I needed to hint that something is there, even though there isn’t any proof—looking back, that’s pretty close to what I’ve been going after with my art. I want much of my work to be like a Rorschach inkblot—to suggest the appearance of something without an actual drawing of that something. I always ask, ‘How much information is enough? When can I stop?’”
