“Fort Louise is a vibrant neighborhood restaurant in East Nashville, Tennessee. Fuzzco created the identity system, illustrations, menu system, website and various collateral items experienced throughout the restaurant. We were inspired by the restaurant itself, a quaint arts-and-crafts-style ranch house with an interesting history and lots of soul. That, along with the eclectic menu, informed the fun, technically loose approach to the identity. We embraced the laid-back vibe of the space by taking a quirky approach to layout. Words and images flow languorously, paying no mind to grid nor margin. In addition to a bespoke wordmark and monogram, we created a series of hand-drawn india ink drawings to accompany the various printed ephemera within the Fort. We wrote a lot of the copy sprinkled throughout the work, most notably on the website. Above all others, “I’m hungry like a Fort” became our raison d’être.”
