“Curious Critters gathers young adventurers from all around the world on a mission to help scientists discover new, mysterious creatures. The user embarks on a journey on a 3-D planet to meet all the creatures found to date. The project revolves around three apps, a website and an interactive book. The decision to use transmedia storytelling [telling a single story across multiple platforms and formats] was linked to its engagingness and multidimensionality. Across the project’s various forms, children have multiple points of entry and multiple levels of storytelling, which helps them acquire knowledge about the creatures and their habitats.”
