“This piece was created for the high-end online gallery Wonderwall. They wanted a black-and-white piece as muted and monochrome was trending at the time. I managed to change their minds with this everything-but-gray piece. And it became a best seller. One of the hardest things when selling art is naming the pieces. I know I could have called it Untitled, but this gal needed a name. When I was sitting in a retro-styled French coffee shop, I saw a poster for the Charlie Chaplin movie The Kid, only this was the French version of the poster, so it was Le Kid. And there it was.”
