“Swedish couture queen Ida Sjöstedt asked me to interpret her spring/summer 2019 collection. The prints would be shown and sold by Absolut Art and therefore had to be ready in time for fashion week in Stockholm, in late August 2018. At the time of the request, the dresses were still mainly in Ida’s head, so with the help of her own sketches, fabric swatches and mood boards, I tried my best to get in there. The collection was called Dream on Dreamer, and the project was a dream from start to finish. I got to do what I love most—capture the vibe and essence of clothing rather than the seams and hemlines—and Ida, being the curator, got to pick her four favorite pieces out of 20 artworks.”
