Paper Collages. “Due to a hand injury in my first year at art school, I could not draw or paint for a long time. So, I started to make paper collages and learned to use brave, rough shapes. I loved that it was so easy to experiment with the compositions and found that, since I couldn’t control everything, there were always surprises. This taught me to express myself in a more abstract way. In the end, paper collages have had a great effect on my visual style, even when I work digitally, so this hand injury ended up turning into something great!”
