“El Vado opened in 1937 as one of New Mexico’s first Route 66 roadside motels. After it closed in 2005, it slowly slipped into disrepair. When an investor bought the property, he was committed to more of a reimagining of the motel rather than just a restoration. Our work, which focused on the ‘stay unique’ aspect of the quirky but welcoming property, encouraged locals and visitors to experience a place that had historic charm as well as modern comforts.”
