“This photo needed to represent an article about the molecular makeup of food. Alicia Deal, the food stylist, and I thought it would be interesting to look at food as if it were magnified under the lens of a microscope. Alicia cut each food item into circles and applied a gel to connect them and create an amoeba-like creature. I love collaborating with Alicia. We both geek out and get overly excited about conceptual ideas and see how far we can push them on set.”
