Andrea Tinnes, typeface designer

Included in Andrea Tinnes’s Library of Shapes, Texts and Structures project, Allgemein Grotesk and Affiche Collection, a working title for a face that is still in beta, both combine different skeletons and shapes within one typeface. Allgemein Grotesk, a revised version of Wedding Sans, mixes the skeletons of round and square letterforms from a neo-grotesk repertoire, but enables the user to control the amount of combinations via OpenType features. Without any stylistic sets activated, Allgemein Grotesk has the look and feel of a normal grotesk typeface, rooted within a modernist tradition. However, the more alternate characters and stylistic sets are selected, the more angular and distinct its appearance becomes, without losing its balance and coherence.
