A 10-color silkscreen alternative movie poster for Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden. “The challenge for this piece was to figure out how to show sensuality and wickedness subtly but impactfully. In Asian culture, having dark, thick, black hair is often thought of as a symbol of wealth, health, social status and sensuality. I remember what my mentor, Bill Mayer, told me once before: ‘Sometimes just revealing enough will be more impactful for the audience.’ I applied that method to the snake scales.”
