“Since 1997, iconic street Avenida Paulista in São Paulo has also been the home of the world’s biggest Pride Parade, but in 2020, the Parade was canceled due to the pandemic. Mercado Livre, the traditional sponsor of the Brazilian Pride Parade, decided to make it happen anyway. Feed Parade turned the entire 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) of Avenida Paulista into an Instagram feed through almost 300 photos. Invited by influencers, people tagged themselves in the photos to be part of the virtual parade, crowding the avenue in only fifteen minutes. And when everyone thought it was over, LGBTQIA+ Brazilian legend Gloria Groove released a music video featuring the Instagram handle of every single person tagged on the Feed Parade.”
