“We challenged ourselves to create our very first 3-D minifilm for our talk at the Forward Festival in Hamburg, Germany. The organizers asked us to hold a speech with a very special surprise: our talk was sponsored by Maxon, the software company responsible for Cinema 4D. 3-D was still a pretty new thing for our studio, but we took this as a challenge to see how we could turn our 2-D style into something three-dimensional. We started with a very fun (and sadly rejected by a client) 2-D illustration from a larger project and transformed it into 3-D. While we often use 3-D for more abstract shapes, we wanted to put our more figurative 3-D skills to the test, creating some geometrical flowers and fun, exaggerated characters.”
