“The imagery for Bocao Food Fest was inspired by the Taino people and their characteristic ceramics. Whenever I create images for a food festival, I try to do something unexpected. In this case, I used familiarity with Taino ceramic shapes and combined them with typical food-fest meals—for example, the mustard on the hotdog is a Taino pattern. The characters maintain the original silhouettes of the ceramics but comprise gastronomic features. All the surrounding nature hints at food, music and drinks.”
