“To destigmatize student debt in the United States, the Student Debt Crisis Center launched a varsity sweater customizable by school and amount of debt. Using the same colors and fonts as a student’s alma mater, we replaced the university name with the total debt owed, demonstrating the true cost of education in the United States. Students then wore them on the steps of the Supreme Court during the government hearings on debt policy, creating a compelling visual statement in the fight to end their crippling debt.”
