“Every day, 1.5 million recyclable containers end up in landfills across Québec. This shocking statistic launched The Dignity Bag, the world’s first bag designed to validate the work of binners—urban recyclers working in the shadows of every city. In partnership with Les Valoristes Cooperative de Solidarité, an environmental and social nonprofit organization, this proactive project helps binners work more efficiently, comfortably and safely while giving them the visibility and dignity they deserve. The pilot project secured provincial government funding for 500 bags, with interest from organizations in New York, Portland, São Paulo and Vancouver.”
