"This was for the Letter's page, to illustrate the responses to an article about depression. The question of depression being genetic versus psychological was raised, as there were varied opinions on the subject. In keeping to a neutral portrayal of this sensitive topic, I used the flowers to show roots that represent the family history of an individual who may suffer from depression, while the one flower he holds is wilted to mimic his feelings." 9 x 12.
