Unpublished image of William F. Buckley, Jr., shot with a Mamiya RZ67, Kodak Portra NC 400 with available light, at his home in Stamford, Connecticut, July 1, 2004. "I usually have some conversation with a subject, but occasionally a sitter is so interesting that I am genuinely keen to chat. Buckley was such a person. I asked him a number of questions about the current political climate. He entertained my inquires at first, but soon shut me down by asking, 'Are we finished doing the photographs then?' I wasn't insulted; I thought he was sort of funny."
