William Huber, photographer
"I could not stop thinking about it. Not for days, just hours in this case. This appeared after a dry spell of nothing for miles of driving, days really across the wide state of South Dakota. This is the one I saw a flash of out the window, drove another 40 miles and then turned around to go back. I was chasing my way to see the Badlands alone after leaving a wedding in Minneapolis. I was solely inspired by the movie Badlands by Terrence Malick and in love with the desolate landscape. I struggled with the learned idea that you cannot shoot anything decent in the noon day sun."
