Montana Meth Project, client
Montana Meth Project television commercial. "While the federal government was focusing on marijuana, methamphetamine use was tearing the heart out of Middle America," said James Robinson, writer. "When the Tom and Stacy Siebel foundation asked for help combating one of the most addictive and dangerous drugs known to man, we jumped at the chance.Unlike most PSA efforts, our Montana Meth Project work treated meth like a consumer product. We used traditional research to determine young people's attitudes and perceptions about the drug. We used the findings to create an integrated television, print, outdoor, radio and Internet campaign designed to 'unsell' the allure of the drug. Four months after the initial run, we still have high-school newspapers begging us not to take the advertising down. In late 2005, the work was shown to both houses of congress, and other states are clamoring to use the campaign." “Laundromat”:30 (Open on a laundromat at night. We see a woman with two small kids. Cut to a teenager in the corner and an older woman and man standing at some machines) SFX: Door crashes open. (Cut to outside the Laundromat to see a hooded man push through the door. The older woman and teenager look up to see what the noise is. The hooded guy pushes the old woman as she screams. Then he punches the man to the floor and steals his wallet) Hooded Guy: Give me your money! Give me your money! (Cut to the older woman on the floor and the hooded guy yells at her as she cowers under a cart. He counts some cash in his hands) Hooded Guy: Shut up! (He moves down the row of washing machines, to the woman with two kids. He screams at them crazily) Hooded Guy: Stop looking at me! (Woman screams. Kids are screaming) Hooded Guy: Give me your money!! Give me it! (The mom tosses money and change onto the floor. Cut to point of view of the teenager in the corner as the hooded man runs towards him. The teenager shifts in his seat. The Hooded Guy grabs the teenager's sweatshirt and we see that they are the same person. One kid is healthy and the other is beat up, with red eyes and his teeth are very yellow) Hooded Guy: This wasn't supposed to be your life. (Cut to their faces looking at each other) Logo: Meth. Not even once. NotEvenOnce.com. Montana Meth Project Logo. SFX: Logo crackles.
