"HBO considers Six Feet Under to be a 'dark comedy.' This directly led to us portraying "funny deaths" in the work. Sort of like the kind you might see at the beginning of each episode, except ours were impending. And the laws of comedy hold that impending death is always funnier," said Paul Venables.
