"Several successful applications of our new signage standards now serve as reference for future construction projects and signage retrofits. Clockwise from upper left: the M logo detail is badged on a service identifier at a new Orange Line station, rendered in stainless steel; detail of directional signage at Union Station transit hub, showing use of DIN typeface; a backlit sign at Union Station's Red Line portal shows the dimensional detail of the M letterform; a grand pylon marks the entrance to a Metro Red Line station on Hollywood Bl. We worked with the manufacturer to develop a perforated vinyl and brushed stainless steel panel for the Metro logo. During daylight viewing, the logo reads as positive. When backlit at night, the positive/negative relationship reverses for added visibility; Directional signage in the busy Union Station train tunnel guides Metro Rail, Metrolink and Amtrak customers."
