“This poster was created for The Connection ’06, an annual conference exploring the relationships between several pivotal figures in the American Arts and Crafts movement. Typography respectful of, but not derived directly from, the aesthetic helped this poster stand out in a very cluttered Arts and Crafts environment in Western New York, home to numerous Frank Lloyd Wright properties as well as the Roycroft Inn and Campus,” said designer Gregory Meadows and copy supervisor Mike Gluck. “The overlapping type, set in various sizes, underscores the relationships while highlighting key figures. A wallpaper design by William Morris—the inspiration for the East Aurora, New York Roycroft community and campus—adds a note of authenticity to the conference offerings and appeals to the Arts and Crafts faithful.”
