The core graphic. “The core graphic palette, a series of wave pattern backgrounds, connects all Beijing 2008 identity elements and images, including the ‘Dancing Beijing’ emblem and secondary emblems, color system, five Olympic rings and sport pictograms. Together they form a consistent yet flexible ‘Look of the Games’ for applications such banners and venue decorations. The wave pattern, inspired by traditional Chinese textiles, is called ‘Lucky Cloud’ and symbolizes the granting of blessings.”
