"Jack Johnson photographed at his childhood home in Oahu, Hawaii, 2005. They live right on Pipeline. He’s a really laid-back guy. I noticed how cool the reflections were behind me. Sometimes I’ll tell my subject to go sit in the doorway and as soon as they sit down, I start shooting pictures. That’s when they’re most relaxed. Those are the moments I’m looking for, when their guard is down; when they’re not quite ready."
