"As a designer I believe we should pitch books and series ideas to editors and publishers as well—why let the editors and authors have all the fun? Wasting a lunch hour on Etsy, I came across the artist, Erin Paisley, who was doing these great little thread drawings of mermaid-like ladies (sirens?) underwater and thought 'future book series.' So I bought one and when it came in, I went upstairs with it to our Classics editor Elda Rotor, and she really embraced the idea and away we go onto another fun series. While Erin was the inspiration, ultimately Jillian Tamaki executed these covers, creating beautiful objects lots of people will want to have and read—and all done without a computer."
