"Through Story Island, Designer Qing-Yang Xiao believes that he can share his appreciation of natural beauty and his concerns about environmental deterioration with visual images—without any further explanations, viewers embrace the same love and care in Mr. Xiao's design. Story Island is the fourth Grammy Awards nomination for Qing-Yang Xiao in the album design category. When he was nominated for the Grammy Awards for the third time, he determined to create a design that is beyond cultural boundaries and can touch many people's hearts. Through the artworks of paper cutting, Story Island represents both natural beauty and natural disasters coexisting in every corner on earth. There are thirteen paper-cut artworks in this music album, including pictures of the pest-infested land, an island destroyed by hurricane, the global warming crisis, beautiful buildings, Grandpa's betel-wrapping hands, the flying-fish festival on a volcanic island, children, animals symbolizing peace, etc. Spanning two years, Story Island is a continuous effort by a design team to represent the incessant changes in our environment."
