"PUMA Social recognizes the largest group of un-sponsored athletes out there: the After Hours Athletes. For the past three years, we heralded these athletes, recognizing the games they play (ping-pong, darts, pool and bowling), the arenas they play in and the rules that they play by. As we entered the fourth year of PUMA Social, we identified the greatest threat to the After Hours Athlete since the hangover: reality television. Today, reality television programs dominate our cultural zeitgeist. More and more people are spending time watching life instead of actually living. Our film juxtaposes a slew of reality television audio clips with visuals of life actually being played, highlighting the tragic irony of watching reality television instead of truly living in reality. It celebrates those who create their own stories with friends and teammates. Because, in the end, life deserves to be played, and channel surfing is not a sport."
