"The country of Bhutan came up with the concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) as a Buddhist-inspired alternative to Gross National Product (GNP). However, the Bhutanese government has oppressed and discriminated against the minority Nepalese population because of their religion, language and cultural differences. Many of these people now are living in refuge camps in other countries because of the harsh treatment, torture and imprisonment."
