Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, client
"The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts is housed within Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando's first US building, a meditative, minimalist concrete refuge in Midtown St. Louis. The curators at the Pulitzer Foundation are keenly interested in using the elegant context of the Ando building to add layers of meaning to the art displayed. 'Ideal [Dis-] Placements' presented works by Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Reubens and others to explore the intersection of modern architecture and classical painting and drawing. We created the brand identity, marketing materials and catalog for the exhibition, as well as the website. Reflecting the exhibition's focus on recreating light conditions accurate to the artists' period, we set the works on deep blacks so that the gilt golds and chiaroscuros would spring to life. Art in the catalog was always shown within the architectural context of the building, and photographed in natural light."
