"In conjunction with an event honoring famed typographer Matthew Carter, AIGA Boston asked thirteen local designers to create a poster based on one of the letters of Mr. Carter's name. A boxed set of the posters was given to Mr. Carter and individual posters were auctioned off to raise money for the chapter. We wanted to represent Mr. Carter's illustrious career, which has spanned from hand-punched to on-screen type, so we created a sculpture made up of 'tools of the designer's trade' that have become obsolete. We then mirrored a photograph of the sculpture to create the H form. From analog to digital."
