“Editorial illustration has been a mainstay of our studio for years,” Hesselberth says. “I love the problem-solving aspect of it. Short deadlines are the norm, but it’s great to be able to fit in a few editorial pieces when I am working on a long-term project. It keeps my brain working. This piece was for a very clinical story about new drugs that may help kidney transplant patients. The client wanted to convey the sense of hope that these patients have now.”
