Byronesque, client
“For this 700-square-foot mural created for Byronesque’s fashion retrospective at the abandoned James A. Farley Post Office in Manhattan, I was given a poem, ‘The Company of Melancholiacs,’ by Jens Peter Jacobsen, to work with. I took its central theme of depression as a jumping-off point. I looked at the masks we wear day to day, our clothes being one, and decided to use layers as a way to represent this. I created a poster for each line of the poem, pasted them one on top of another and then tore them down to reveal the other lines and images underneath.”
