"Fugitive was a privately commissioned large-scale drawing created by using small twigs to apply natural pigments containing weeds, dandelions, dried leaves, pokeweed berries and blackberries. Nonpermanent pigments, ones that can change over time or with exposure to light and other factors, are known as ‘fugitive pigments.’ I am intrigued by how a piece of art can be alive or at least mimic life in how it degrades and ultimately ends in death. The composition represents three stages: past, present and future.”
