“I’m an only child and grew up feeling very close to my mom. Like any other overprotective mom, she forbade me to play football, though I always wanted to. This personal project was my way of living out that childhood dream of playing under the Friday night lights. This particular kid had just run about 90 yards, scoring a touchdown in the process. The shot obviously captures tons of expression, but my favorite part is the guy to the right yelling in his ear while he’s trying to catch his breath.”
