His movies are always extremely violent, so I thought to do the opposite—surrounding him with white doves, the symbol of peace. We had the doves, gurney and straitjacket on standby at the studio. I didn’t mention the idea to his publicist beforehand because it most likely would have been turned down. It took a lot of convincing on set, but once he was sitting on the gurney, he thought the straitjacket was a good fit.”
