“The first of my many projects commissioned by Irene Gallo, this illustration accompanied the short story ‘At the Foot of the Lighthouse,’ written by Erin Hoffman. The story had so much to offer an illustrator, and given that Irene is a very hands-off art director, I was able to create exactly the painting I wanted. It’s easily one of my all-time favorite paintings of my career.”
