“A special and inspiring creation, Symphonie Cinétique was conceived in two weeks of intense collaboration between German media artist and designer Joachim Sauter and Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds. In 2013, MADE Space, a Berlin-based art center, invited both artists to collaborate. Sauter chose five silent movies that had been developed over the last five years. Then Arnalds and Sauter created a kinetic composition that explores the poetic synergy of music and mechanical motion in a space.”
