For the 2016 iteration of Vancouver’s Art/Book Fair (VA/BF)—a festival that celebrates Canadian creativity in books, magazines, print ephemera and zines with live performances and talks—New York, New York–based UI designer and developer Christy Nyiri created a bespoke site that complements Pete Florentini’s identity design. Nyiri, who has been creating VA/BF collateral with Florentini for five years, utilized AJAX with Wordpress to create the front-end. With chamfered text boxes—created in CSS—housing navigation links, utilitarian transitions and hovers, and a single font family, the site’s design prominently features friendly primary colors and oversized type to promote the VA/BF’s personality.
This design studio in Lucerne, Switzerland, holds nothing back, and neither does its new site.
