Background: Agnes Lloyd-Platt is a fashion and beauty photographer, and a filmmaker based in London, United Kingdom. Taking predominantly pastel photos, she has created a stylistic vision through her use of color and accompanying ideology. Lloyd-Platt required a website to showcase her body of work and articulate her personality. Using Lloyd-Platt’s single style as a touchpoint, with help from Sea Change, we developed a website around exhibiting the color in her work, as well as injecting optimism into a field that often takes itself too seriously.
Highlights: We developed this website so that every image can be assigned a color value. ‘By color’ and ‘By type’ can then be filtered on the projects page. This creates a fresh and alternative way of exploring Lloyd-Platt’s work. Throughout the website, all the typography is black, except for some key interactions of color within the interface—which are randomly chosen and sampled from an array of her most prominent colors. It was very important to keep Lloyd-Platt’s work the sole focus of the color on the page.
Challenges: The page load times, especially on the projects page.
Time constraints: The reality of working with an international photographer meant that the times we could actually connect had to be very productive.
