Responses by Georgia Chatzi, designer and founder, Big Horror Athens; and Yannis Yannakopoulos, developer.

Background: The first purpose of Anti—like any e-commerce site—is to sell products. In that case, we also wanted to educate, inform and prove to people that “waste” materials can be used to create beautiful products. Anti makes that possible for us, and these products actually are not only beautiful but also very unique, because each material is unique. The site targets people who love and want to be surrounded by beautiful design objects but also have high environmental awareness.

Design core: The concept with the spotlight on the slider. The combination of typography. The big arrows. The color palette. The grid.

Challenges: The Innovation page. We had pictures of the lamps, and we had to show all the different materials Anti uses to create them. But these parts are so small and difficult to find within the pictures. We had to balance this with our desire to create a different way to show this information while retaining the look and feel that we wanted for the brand.

Time constraints: In the beginning, we had a strict deadline for the project, but the client gave us more time upon understanding that we would need more time to transform the site into something beautiful and functional. We want to thank him for the trust and the liberty of time he gave us.

Technology: The site was built in WordPress. We used WooCommerce for all the e-shop functionalities, GSAP for our animation platform and curtains.js for a lightweight WebGL experience.
