Background: From the beginning, we only had a temporary webpage that was really trippy and psychedelic, but not easy to look at. So we needed a new site, one that is not only beautiful and mind-boggling, but also innovative and ergonomic for users who want to see what we really do.
Highlights: We wanted a site that was minimal and simple so the projects would stand out. Also, a lot of attention was placed on the site’s writing, as we wanted the text to be clear, poetic and funny in order to invite potential clients into our universe and explain our agency’s motto. We also have a landing page that will be changed two or three times a year—either to a new project or a special event—and it is a space where we can express ourselves wildly.
Challenges: Curating the content for all the projects.
Favorite details: The infinite loop! We like to brag that our website is the first ever infinite website. We are really proud of this feature. To be able to scroll all the way down the website and then reach the top again; it’s like being stuck in an infinite loop. We love loops!
Navigational structure: Keep it simple! As we wanted people to be able to have a complete overview of our projects and understand our whole range of expertise, we needed to have easy site navigation. We also wanted to give the chance to showcase all of our projects. The layout on the projects page is random, highlighting different projects every time the user refreshes the page. This allows users to discover smaller projects she or he might never have known otherwise.
Time constraints: Designing for yourself can be a nightmare sometimes, because you always want to spend more time on the project and push yourself further. We kept pushing back the launch because we wanted to implement new features or try new things. At some point, we decided that if we didn’t launch the website, we wouldn’t ever be able to. So, we fixed the last small details and launched it.
