Background: Our personal project, Beyond Beauty, showcases four women—Natalie Portman, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Cara Delevingne—who are primarily known for their acting careers and for the great things they have done for feminism, politics, women’s body image in society and education. For each of them, we highlighted a speech they made and illustrated it with collages, videos and motion graphics. We also put in key facts about them in a timeline so users can learn more about what these women have done for the greater good.

Highlights: The audio and visual speech approach that emphasize the immersive aspect and lets users get carried by the topic. The concept of this project and the message delivered is as important as its realization.

Challenges: The optimization of performances and the animation. We spent so much time working on the little details of the interface, the transitions and interactive elements. We really enjoyed every part of it!

Favorite details: The organic look of the site, as we spent a lot of time working on the circles, the cursors and the transitions. This organic look shows the human side and the relationship between the physical and inner beauty of these four women.
