Background: Blumenkopf is the very first piece in the new Limited By Spatzek collection, which sells limited ready-to-go websites with the typical Spatzek Studio quality for a fraction of the normal price. The main benefits of this collection are that customers don’t have to wait for a few months, and they can skip the entire briefing and revision process while actually knowing what the end result will be. Plus, of course, the limitation ensures exclusivity, which you won’t get if you buy WordPress themes or similar readymade websites. Blumenkopf plays a key role in this collection, as its success determines the future of the Limited by Spatzek program.
Design core: The site at its core is actually pretty simple. It is structured as a typical studio page with a homepage, Project pages and an About page. In terms of aesthetics, however, it shines: We aimed for a very distinctive look to make it stand above other themes. Being limited to eleven pieces, we were able to take some risks and create a style that caters to a smaller audience.
Another very important factor was that the design had to be highly modifiable without losing its character. Customers can change all line weights and colors for a personalized look based on their own branding. Thicker lines and bold colors make it pop and give it a funky character, whereas thinner lines and toned-down colors make it more elegant. Therefore, every piece sold offers a unique appearance to clients.
Challenges: To create a system that makes the buying and setup process comfortable for the customer was actually quite difficult, since we wanted to launch the minimum viable product as soon as possible without creating an extensive tool. Currently, we manually copy and set up all sold pieces on the Storyblok CMS and Netlify. This process will definitely be streamlined if the Limited by Spatzek program proves successful. Our goal is to make everything fully automatic: upon the user paying, the system sets everything up automatically so the customer can immediately start to fill in the content and go live on the very same day.
