As part of Canvas’s acquisition by United Collective, the New York–, Denver- and Huntington Beach, California–based creative agency has rebranded as Canvas United. To reflect its rebranding, Canvas United redesigned its portfolio site as a collection of memorable experiences within a refined interface. Interactions—such as the squiggle on Canvas United’s Ethos page or the “Bringing brands into focus” section on its Work page—showcase how the agency’s designers and front-end engineers work together to tell stories in unique, digital ways. A template-driven case study section enables the facets of each project to come to life through videos of site interactions, charts, technical diagrams, screenshots, quotes and testimonials. Canvas United also sprinkled its site with Easter eggs—mobile visitors, try turning the site to landscape mode.
Built in Contentful and ReactJS, Canvas United’s site leverages state to handle smooth page transitions and scroll effects, such as the slide swap on the homepage. Since its launch, the site has garnered accolades for its design and technical implementation.
