In its brick-and-mortar store in Montréal, Clark Street Mercantile offers a meticulously curated, hand-picked selection of up-and-coming products that embody its motto: take pride in what you own. Designed and developed by New York City–based digital firm Zero Studios, the store’s quiet, restrained digital presence extends that ethos online with an environment that puts the shop’s brands on a pedestal and enables its products to influence the site design. Zero Studios’ flexible UI adapts based on the color palettes employed by brands’ packaging, centering the site’s visual language on the dynamism of simple colors and elegant typography—thanks to Commercial Type’s webfont, Portrait.
