Montréal, Quebec–based illustration agency Colagene redesigned its site with a new responsive layout to house its impressive roster of illustrators. Large images boldly stand out on the page and catch the eyes of visitors looking to peruse the firm’s catalog; those wishing to peruse even further can now use search filters to navigate by specific disciplines, subjects and techniques. “The previous website had been online since 2008,” says Vincent Sillard, the creative director and co-founder of Colagene, “so I had thought to change it for a while now! We are constantly adjusting and optimizing every pixel to have the best website possible.” Colagene’s classic features are still available, such as “Create Your Own PDF,” where visitors can make online presentations and sales pitches using illustrations featured on the site. And, Colagene’s new site is hosted on a faster server to ensure that downtime is minimized. “Our site is our main tool to promote our artists, and it needed to be up-to-date,” says Sillard. “Now that it is, our clients are pretty happy to see this.”
